The business was started in 2016 when I discovered a new product called Green Gold. I saw a definite market for the product and decided to approach the supplier. I became an agent for Green Gold and as the little business grew, I needed a name and that is where West Coast Feeds came about. Once I had established the product in the area around me, I recognized that in Morning Star all the farms were buying their horse feed from various places and there was no central easy point to order and have small quantities delivered as most suppliers will only deliver larger amounts. I approached the various suppliers and West Coast Feeds became an easier way for horse owners to acquire their feed as it was convenient. At the end of 2017, I saw an opportunity to add Tack to our list and West Coast Feeds evolved to West Coast Feeds and Tack. Halfway through 2018, we added a shop box to our business. This enabled us to travel with our tack with a convenient trailer setup as a shop. West Coast Feeds and Tack became a tack shop as well as having premises in Montague Gardens.

As we grew, we added manufacturing into our range. We have an industrial sewing machine and an industrial overlocker and can make pretty much anything that you require. We also do blanket repairs and other repairs. We don’t do leather repairs, but we are hoping to be able to add that onto our list.

It has been a thoroughly exciting journey and we are able to deliver feed and visit yards with our tack trailer making us a versatile company that adds convenience to any yard or horse owner’s life.

Our company is unique in that we can manufacture to your requirements (even if you want a pillow for your couch!) and that we are mobile and can bring our shop to you.
